The ALS Ride for Life organization visited Tamarac Elementary School on Jan. 19, ahead of its flagship event this spring. Members of the organization and patients taught students about ALS and how they advocate to raise funding and awareness in the fight against the disease.

Students then learned about how the Ride for Life started in 1997 and has grown since. Last year, the Ride for Life made stops at both Sachem high schools, Sagamore Middle School, Tamarac Elementary School and Merrimac Elementary School. Sachem looks forward to welcoming the Ride for Life back this year.
