In honor of September marking Suicide Prevention Month, students at Sachem High School East came together to spread positivity and hope. Mrs. Schaefer’s speech language communications skills class joined Mrs. Prunty’s English students and Social Worker Mrs. Donlon for a collaborative activity. Students participated in a “chalk the walk” outside of High School East’s main entrance. They decorated the sidewalks with uplifting messages, inspiring quotes and symbols of support.

The activity shined a light on mental health, raised awareness, fostered community connection and reminded all members of High School East that they are not alone.
