Seneca Middle School students who participated in the summer reading program were treated to a bagel breakfast and visit from author Antoinette Truglio Martin on Oct. 11. The program is an initiative between Seneca Middle School and the Sachem Public Library to encourage reading while school is out of session and prevent the summer slide.
Antoinette Truglio Martin is a children’s book author and is known for her picture book, “Famous Seaweed Soup,” as well as her middle level historical fiction series, “Becoming America’s Stories.” She discussed with students how she became and author and the many steps it takes to write a book – from beginning with research, to the final publishing process.
