Students in the ENL program at Hiawatha Elementary School created the “United Nations of Hiawatha” ahead of the building’s Thanksgiving celebrations. Kindergarten, first and second grade students put together a link chain with flags of their respective countries. Third, fourth and fifth graders created posters teaching about a leader from their home country, or a country of their choosing. The posters and flags were on display in the building for the annual kindergarten Thanksgiving parade.
