Members of Sachem High School North’s Carpentry Career Training Program have continued to lend their skills and talents to create shed buildings at our elementary schools. To date, the students and their teachers have built sheds for Cayuga, Hiawatha, Nokomis and Wenonah.

The initiative started to promote the program to the younger generation, while also cultivating a sense of pride for giving back to the district. The sheds are built in the classroom and taken apart in panels to be reassembled on site.

“We couldn’t have done this without the support of administration and others, but a big shoutout goes to the grounds department for preparing the sites and lugging the shed panels to the various locations,” Grant Gustavsen, technology education teacher, said. “We look forward to future projects around the district.”
