Sachem Hosts 43rd Annual Jeff Stone Memorial Meet
Sachem High School East welcomed runners, coaches, and families for the 43rd Jeff Stone Memorial Meet, a proud tradition honoring the late coach’s legacy.
Sachem North and East coaches and athletes assisted with timing, course setup, and support, while Sagamore, Samoset, and Seneca cross country teams, led by Coach Onorato (Sagamore), Coach Bryne (Samoset), and Coach Michta (Seneca), competed on the mile-and-a-half course.
The Tom Toscano Foundation presented commemorative t-shirts to the top ten finishers, and red sweat wristbands were sold to benefit the Jeff Stone Memorial Scholarship Fund. Top girls' finishers were Olivia Enea (Seneca), Scarlett Bartoszak (Sagamore), and Malika Belizaire (Samoset). Top boys finishers were Andrew Bitz (Samoset), Issac Wharton (Sagamore), and Jacob Guerron (Seneca).
Jeff Stone was a beloved Sachem coach and teacher whose dedication to athletics shaped the lives of generations of student-athletes.
As the late Coach Charlie Johnson once said, “His knowledge, guidance, and encouraging words will be missed, but not forgotten.”
