Thank you for your interest in Sachem! We’re excited to support you on your path to becoming an educator. All student teaching, observation, and internship placements are coordinated through the Personnel Office.
How to Apply
1. Complete the Online Application
Submit the district application using the link below and upload all required documents:
- College placement request letter
- Resume (combine both documents into one file)
If you have already arranged a placement with a teacher or staff member, please note this in your application.

2. Confirm College Submission
Ensure your college placement office includes your name and contact information on the list submitted to the district, indicating your requested placement type.
After You Apply
If a placement becomes available, the Personnel Office will contact you to complete required onboarding paperwork.
To finalize your placement, you must:
- Complete all required paperwork
- Attend a mandatory virtual orientation
- Obtain fingerprint clearance prior to your start date
Please note: An affiliation agreement must be in place between the district and your college or university before a placement can be coordinated.
The deadline to submit requests for placements is as follows:
Application Deadlines:
- Student Teaching: June 12, 2026
- Observation Hours: September 18, 2026
Mandatory Orientation Sessions (via Google Meet): All applicants must attend one of the following sessions:
- Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 1:00 PM
- Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 9:30 AM
- Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 9:30 AM
- Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 2:00 PM
