Cayuga Elementary Dedicates Tree in Honor of Joanne Golini for Her Lasting Impact on the School Community
Cayuga Elementary School came together for a heartfelt ceremony to honor a beloved member of its community, Joanne Golini, whose dedication and leadership have left an indelible mark on generations of students, families, and staff.
During the ceremony, a tree was planted and dedicated in Golini’s honor, a living symbol of her compassion, commitment, and the strong foundation she helped establish at Cayuga.
“When we think about what makes a school thrive, it’s not just the walls or the programs—it’s the people,” said Cayuga Principal Lori Onesto. “Joanne is one of those people. She showed up every day, gave of her time and heart, and made a real difference in the lives of others.”
Golini's connection to Cayuga runs deep. As a dedicated staff member, she devoted her energy to supporting students and the school’s mission. As the founder of the Cayuga PTA, she helped create a vital bridge between families and the school, building a partnership that continues to support children and strengthen community ties.
Through her kindness, leadership, and unwavering commitment, Golini helped shape the spirit of Cayuga Elementary—one rooted in care, collaboration, and a sense of community pride.
The newly planted tree stands as a lasting tribute to her legacy. Its roots symbolize the deep connections Golini established within the school, while its branches serve as a reminder of how one person’s dedication can help an entire community flourish.
“On behalf of the entire Cayuga family, our staff, students, and families, we thank Joanne for all she has done and for the inspiration she continues to bring,” said Onesto. “May this tree stand tall as a reflection of her love, leadership, and the enduring impact she’s made on Cayuga Elementary.”
