Sachem East Field Hockey Captures Second Straight Long Island Title
The Sachem East field hockey team has once again proven its dominance, securing its second consecutive Long Island championship ... and doing so with a perfect record against Long Island opponents.
Sachem East remained unbeaten, improving to 19-0 after defeating Massapequa, 2-0, in the Long Island Class A Championship/Southeast Regional Final on its home field Sunday. The victory showcased the team’s discipline, defense, and relentless pursuit of excellence that have defined its season.
Josie Dee put Sachem East on the board in the second quarter, giving the Flaming Arrows an early lead. Dee later assisted Brooke Wasson, who delivered the decisive insurance goal in the fourth quarter to seal the championship.
Sachem East now advances to the NYS Class A semifinals, where they will face Mamaroneck at 10 a.m. Saturday at Arlington High School.
With another title in sight, the team continues its remarkable pursuit of a state championship driven by teamwork, leadership, and the Sachem pride that fuels their historic run.
