Waverly Students Shine at Annual ENL Feast, Celebrating Culture, Community, and the Holiday Season
Waverly officially kicked off the holiday season today with its beloved annual ENL Feast — a vibrant celebration of culture, learning, and togetherness. English as a New Language (ENL) students in kindergarten through fifth grade took center stage, proudly sharing research and presentations about their home countries.
In classrooms filled with colorful displays, maps, and traditional artifacts, students showcased what makes their cultures unique, from geography and landmarks to food, music, and family traditions. Their presentations reflected weeks of hard work, curiosity, and pride.
The celebration continued with a festive feast featuring food and drinks from around the world. Students and staff enjoyed sampling dishes that represented the diverse cultural backgrounds within the Waverly community, transforming the event into both a delicious and meaningful experience.
Waverly extends a heartfelt thank-you to ENL teachers Lori Furnell and Rachel Haik for their leadership, dedication, and exceptional work in bringing this event to life. Their guidance and support helped create an inspiring and inclusive experience for all.
The ENL Feast remains a highlight of the year, reminding everyone of the beauty of diversity and the importance of honoring each student’s story. The celebration fostered connection, understanding, and joy — a perfect way to launch the holiday season at Waverly.
