Sachem East 200 Medley Relay Sets Program Record, Competes at NYSPHSAA State Championships

Sachem East’s boys swimming team made a strong impression at the New York State Championship Meet this weekend, delivering standout performances and representing the program with energy, teamwork, and pride.
Leading the way was the 200 Medley Relay team of Connor Frank, EJ Garmon, CJ Schilling, and David Spooner, with Logan Frank serving as the relay alternate. The quartet finished 23rd in the state while capping off a memorable season in which they set a new Sachem East school record in the event with a time of 1:39.44.
Connor Frank also delivered an outstanding showing in his individual events. The junior placed 14th in New York State in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 52.02 and finished 21st in the 100 Backstroke in 52.99, demonstrating the depth of talent in the Sachem East program.
Throughout the championship meet, the swimmers brought strong energy to the pool deck, constantly cheering for one another and creating an atmosphere of unity and support that reflected the program’s culture.
The meet also marked a milestone moment for senior EJ Garmon, who will continue his swimming career at Mount Saint Mary’s next year. His dedication and leadership have been instrumental to the team’s success.
With several key contributors set to return next season, Sachem East is already looking ahead with optimism, aiming to build on this year’s accomplishments and return to the state stage once again.
