Universal Pre-Kindergarten Information

(For Sachem Residents Only)

Lottery Application Deadline February 27, 2026

Dear Community Member,

Sachem Central School District will be offering a Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program for children whose birthdate is between December 2, 2021, and December 1, 2022, and are first eligible for kindergarten during the 2027-2028 school year. The UPK calendar will follow Sachem’s school calendar; therefore, offering the program for 180 days. School selection and time preference will be considered but not guaranteed. Transportation will not be provided.

Applications for the lottery must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026. There will be no exceptions made for late applicants. Students will be selected for the program by lottery.

An informational meeting regarding the UPK program will be held on February 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will be held via Zoom. We are looking forward to providing a high-quality pre-kindergarten program that prepares our students for future school success by developing strong foundational skills in early literacy.
