Grundy Avenue Elementary Teacher Named Top 8 Finalist in Crumbl National Recognition Program
A beloved educator in the Sachem Central School District is receiving national recognition for her dedication to students and the lasting impact she makes inside and outside the classroom.
Liana Rosenman, a teacher at Grundy Avenue Elementary School, was recognized as one of the Top 8 finalists nationwide out of more than 60,000 nominations as part of a special recognition initiative sponsored by Crumbl Cookies.
To celebrate the achievement, Rosenman was presented with a ceremonial check and cookies in recognition of being selected among the top finalists in the country.
The honor came after an outpouring of support from the Sachem community and a heartfelt nomination submitted by her student, Daniel Eger, and his mother.
Rosenman reflected on the recognition with gratitude and emotion, sharing how her own experiences as a student continue to shape her mission as an educator.
“I am so thankful for the educators who shaped me, the students who inspire me, and Crumbl Cookies for making this moment so sweet,” Rosenman said. “Thank you to my student, Daniel Eger, and his mother for nominating me, and thank you to the Sachem community for your overwhelming support and votes.”
She also spoke candidly about overcoming self-doubt as a student and how those experiences influence the way she supports children in her classroom today.
“As someone who struggled as a student and often doubted my own abilities, I understand how powerful it is to have someone believe in you before you are able to believe in yourself,” Rosenman said. “That experience has shaped not only the teacher I am, but the purpose behind everything I do.”
Rosenman added that she strives to ensure every student feels supported, valued and empowered to succeed.
“I want my students to know that their struggles do not define them, their fears do not limit them, and their potential is far greater than they may realize,” she said. “I will always support them both inside and outside of the classroom, stand beside them through every challenge, and be their biggest cheerleader through every step of their journey. My greatest hope is that every child who walks through my classroom leaves knowing they are capable of incredible things, worthy of every opportunity, and never alone in the journey to becoming who they are meant to be.”
The recognition highlights the profound impact educators can have on their students' lives and serves as a proud moment for the Sachem school community.
