Girl Scouts Service Unit 3 Supports Sachem Food Pantry with Generous Donation Drive

The Sachem Food Pantry recently received a tremendous boost thanks to the generosity and community spirit of Girl Scout Service Unit 3 from the Sachem community.
This week, Girl Scouts and their families delivered a significant collection of food and essential items to the pantry, helping ensure that local families continue to receive the support they need. The donation reflects the scouts' commitment to service and their dedication to making a positive impact right here in their own community.
The Sachem Food Pantry, located at Sachem North and organized through the Sachem North Interact Club, serves as a vital lifeline for families throughout the Sachem community. Through the efforts of student volunteers, staff and community supporters, the pantry provides food and resources to individuals and families facing challenges throughout the year.
"We are incredibly grateful to Girl Scout Service Unit 3 for their kindness and generosity," said Sachem North Interact Club Advisor Christy Zummo. "Their collection will make a meaningful difference for the families who rely on the pantry's services. Acts of service like this demonstrate the strength and compassion of the Sachem community."
The donation also serves as a reminder of the important role community organizations can play in supporting local initiatives. Organizers hope the Girl Scouts' efforts inspire other groups, clubs, businesses and organizations to consider partnering with the pantry and helping meet the ongoing needs of local families.
Most importantly, the pantry extends a heartfelt thank you to every Girl Scout, family member and volunteer who contributed to the collection. Their generosity will help ensure that neighbors in need continue to receive support, hope and encouragement.
Together, these acts of kindness embody the true spirit of "We Are Sachem."
