Sachem East Business & Marketing Honor Society Supports Carol’s Senior Pet Sanctuary

Members of Mrs. Cannetti’s Business & Marketing Honor Society at Sachem High School East recently turned their fundraising efforts into support for animals in need, making a generous donation to Carol’s Senior Pet Sanctuary in Bayport.

The nonprofit sanctuary welcomes dogs regardless of their age, health or circumstances. Its residents include pets surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them, dogs rescued from cruelty or abandonment, and animals brought from other parts of the country and overseas. Recent arrivals have included puppies from Louisiana and a dog from Poland.

Adam Intravia, Sachem East’s substance abuse counselor and a longtime volunteer at Carol’s, delivered the donation on behalf of the honor society. The sanctuary relies on ongoing donations, and its team was grateful for the students’ contribution.

Community members can also support Carol’s by volunteering to walk dogs and help with daily needs. Volunteer opportunities are available seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and those younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. The sanctuary also offers community service hours.

Through their fundraiser, Sachem East’s Business & Marketing Honor Society members demonstrated how working together can make a meaningful difference for a local organization and the animals in its care.
