Third Annual Sachem Day 5K Brings Community Together for Fitness, Fun and School Spirit

The third annual Sachem Day 5K brought the school community together for a celebration of fitness, fun and Sachem pride, featuring a 5K, fun run, mascot race and performances representing schools across the district. The event's fundraising supports scholarships awarded by the Sachem PTA Council.

Community spirit was at the heart of the event, which offered opportunities to participate, cheer on runners and celebrate together. The fun run added to the festivities, while the mascot race brought a playful dose of school pride. Congrats to Merrimac on winning the mascot race - bragging rights are yours for the next year!

A highlight was a cheer and spirit performance featuring students from all 10 Sachem elementary schools, along with the Sachem High School East and Sachem High School North junior varsity cheerleading teams. Bringing elementary and high school students together, the performance showcased the enthusiasm and connection that span the district.

Now in its third year, Sachem Day continues to build a tradition that extends beyond the finish line. From runners and mascots to students showing their school spirit, the event celebrated the people and connections that make Sachem a community.
