Work-based learning students from High School East, alongside business teacher William Ward, dove into community engagement at the Farmingville Chamber of Commerce Street Fair. Students’ enthusiasm illuminated the volunteer zone as they collaborated and connected with thousands from the Sachem community. Students, families and alumni joined together, fostering connections and gaining valuable insights for future endeavors.

WBL students sold raffle tickets, helped create displays and were ready to assist with tasks in the most positive way. Each year, the Farmingville Chamber of Commerce donates all proceeds from these sales for three scholarship opportunities that graduating Sachem seniors can apply for. It was a great day for the community!
