In early February, the Sachem Model United Nations joined schools from across Long Island at Connetquot High School to work together to find diplomatic resolutions to some of the world’s most serious issues.

Sachem delegates researched and represented the interests of over 30 nations as they participated in different simulations and committees. The committees the delegates participated in included the European Union, Future, UNICEF and the United States Senate. Throughout the program, the students demonstrated hard work, cooperation and diplomacy.

Congratulations to team members Tricia Block, who won First Honorable Mention while representing the United States in the UN Security Council; Madyn Gassner, who won Second Honorable Mention while representing Germany in the European Union; and Ryan Media, who won First Honorable Mention while representing both the United States and Canada in the Futuristic Committee.
