At the recent Board of Education meeting, Patrick Burke was appointed principal of Sachem North High School, and Ralph Carusillo Jr. was named director of alternative learning.

Burke, who has served as assistant principal at Sachem North, has been instrumental in developing the master schedule, organizing major school events and enhancing community engagement. He has also worked to implement restorative practices throughout the district. Burke holds an advanced graduate certificate in educational leadership from Stony Brook University and a master’s in special education from Dowling College.

Carusillo, currently assistant principal at both Sachem North High School and Sagamore Middle School, brings a wealth of experience in curriculum development and student support services. He has led initiatives such as the Seal of Civic Readiness program and coordinated intervention services for students in need. Carusillo holds certifications in school building leadership and school district leadership, and an educational leadership certificate from Stony Brook University.
