Each spring, Sachem High School East holds its annual Workforce Event, offering students a valuable opportunity to explore various career paths. The event features around 40 companies, with business professionals providing insights into a range of options, including volunteer work, community service, entry-level jobs and specialized fields. It’s an important event for students considering options such as a four-year college, trade school or entering the workforce immediately after graduation.
The event is organized by William M. Ward, a business teacher and work-based learning coordinator at the school. Work-Based Learning (WBL) initiatives, along with career training programs, help students build essential skills and gain confidence for success after high school.
This year’s event was a great success, thanks to the collaboration of students, faculty and business professionals. The Workforce Event continues to play a key role in preparing students for their future careers.
